Development Manager

From 2018 to 2020, Matthew Burge of BSA was appointed Development Manager for Sunderland Symphony Orchestra, managing their two-year ‘Coming of Age’ development project funded by Arts Council England’s Grant for the Arts programme, and celebrating the Orchestra’s 18th birthday.

This successful project developed the orchestra’s repertoire and marketing resources, and helped to diversify and widen audiences at new venues, including outdoor concerts in Sunderland parks, The Point, and the Sunderland Empire. The project also helped the Orchestra to work in new partnerships and with Sunderland Music Hub and schools to deliver outreach ensemble music learning.
